Summer Love

I have always loved the beach, but living in the middle of New York State, I don't get there very often. So to bring a little beach to my house, I love to add starfish and shells to my summer displays.

I love Spring and Summer, new growth, birth and a time for renewed hope. During these seasons, I love to do something different to my home to try and make it more of a sanctuary for myself and my family. I change displays and add lots of hydrangeas, silverplate, ironstone and beach elements.

Come visit Us!

I currently sell my cottage collectibles, vintage treasures and Hand Painted home decor at The Westmoreland Antique Center and The Mustard Seed at Stonemill. The pics below are of my spot at The Westmoreland Antique Center. (http://www.westmorelandantiquecenter.com/)

This desk/vanity started out as a boring piece, but I painted it up and it looks Great! The blue dresser behind it has 3 drawers and old glass handles. It was painted this blue when I found it.

I hand painted daises and lilacs on this pretty blue bed tray.

I love vintage baby items...I painted the roses on the little shoes. Darling!

I sell Sweet Grass Farm lotions and soaps and house hold cleaners at my shops...Lemon Verbena, White Lilac, Herb Blossom and Lavender. If you have never tried them you must...they are all natural and smell wonderful!
Have a safe and wonderful weekend. Blessings, Kelly

Spring is really Here!

I found this lovely white flat basket at the Westmoreland Antique Center, and I knew I had to paint on it! I am very pleased with the results. I love Lilacs, I think they are my all time favorite. Their scent is divine!

Here, I took an old samsonite suitcase (love the color) and painted vibrant roses on it! I love painting my gardens on old, found items.

On a recent trip to Canal Place in Little Falls, New York, I was awestruck by the gorgeous gardens surrounding the old mill shops. The colors of nature are so vibrant...I wish I could grow flowers like these. Unfortunately, I have a very brown thumb! So, I'll just use my paints to create my beautiful gardens.
Thanks for stopping by and have a Blessed evening! Kelly

Painting Again!

My paints are out once again and I am ready to paint for the new year. I love spring flowers and am looking forward to adding tulips, daffodils, geraniums and lilacs to my "painted" garden.

I have also settled into my new routine at The Westmoreland Antique Center, where I work 2 days a week. I will be adding some pictures of my booth soon!

Have a wonderful, safe weekend. Blessings, Kelly

Changes at The Painted Cottage!

I just finished a great week at the Bouckville, NY, Antique Show. Sold lots of treasures and met lots of great gals. The 3 girls from 52flea visited my booth and bought some neat junk! Can't wait to visit their blog.
There are many changes going on at the Painted Cottage. I am currently in the process of moving my shop! Starting in September, you can find me in 2 new locations, The Westmoreland Antique Center in Westmoreland, NY and The Mustard Seed & Antiques at Stonemill in Little Falls, NY. I am excited about the changes and am looking forward to having more time with my family and for my projects!
Thank You for stopping by! Blessings, Kelly

Summer is here!?

Well, summer is well on its way and I am a mess! I have neglected everything over the past several months to concentrate on my children's school. They attend or attended St Mary's School, Clinton, NY until the Catholic Diocese decided to close it. The school has been around for almost 50 years, and I attended it many many years ago. Needless to say we have been mourning its loss, and I have been at school constantly, organizing end of school activities.
Now , I can start focusing again on my shop, my home and my blog!

I will be set up at the Cooperstown Antique Show this Sunday in Cooperstown, NY. Hopefully the weather will clear. We have had oodles of rain in upstate New York since June. Here's looking for a dryer summer! Enjoy your 4th and stay safe!

Blessings,
Kelly
